IMPORTANT: Oakley Park Mares Syndicate is an Irish breeding syndicate, not ownership of a racehorse currently in training. The syndicate’s focus is on acquiring and breeding broodmares, producing commercial thoroughbred progeny and preparing those horses for sale through the bloodstock market. The intention is therefore not to retain the resulting progeny to race for the syndicate.
Oakley Park Mares Syndicate is managed by Browne Brothers Bloodstock, the Irish bloodstock operation run by brothers Oisin and Dylan Browne. The pair grew up immersed in racing and breeding, with Dylan developing a particular fascination with pedigrees and breeding from an early age. Their first bloodstock venture came in 2016 when they purchased the mare Howareyabelle in foal; the resulting filly, later named Bestrella, became the first horse they sold and subsequently their first winner.
Browne Brothers have since developed an operation spanning breeding-stock management, foaling, sales preparation and representation, breaking, pre-training and bloodstock sourcing. Oakley Park Mares Syndicate brings that experience into shared ownership, allowing members to follow a side of the thoroughbred industry that racehorse syndicates rarely provide access to: selecting mares and matings, pregnancies and foaling, raising youngstock and ultimately making decisions about their future in the sales ring or on the racecourse.
Members participate in the breeding and bloodstock journey rather than the racing career of an individual horse — following mares through covering and pregnancy, seeing foals born and develop, and ultimately following their preparation and sale.
The syndicate is associated with Oakley Park Stud near Kells, County Meath, while Browne Brothers regularly operate at the major Irish, British and French bloodstock sales.
