Fear And Fast is a four-year-old bay gelding by Massaat out of Mafair Lady, trained in Scotland by Jim Goldie for Let’s Be Lucky Racing and partner Steven Wilson. Already an experienced racehorse, he has shown his best form over sprint distances and remains relatively lightly weighted in the handicap. His standout effort came at Musselburgh in October 2025, where he finished second over five furlongs off an official rating of 60. That performance gave the Let’s Be Lucky team confidence that he possesses the speed to be competitive in the right sprint handicaps. Fear And Fast’s pedigree also offers encouragement. His full brother Davvy won twice as a two-year-old during 2025, while Let’s Be Lucky report that bloodstock agent Ted Durcan was particularly positive about Fear And Fast when he was purchased. The team believe further physical development should help him as he matures. He has continued racing during 2026 for Jim Goldie, including runs at Ayr, Musselburgh and Hamilton. His mark has fallen from the low-to-mid 50s earlier in the season to 45 by July, potentially opening up lower-grade sprint handicaps where he can become more competitive. With racecourse experience already established and plenty of suitable sprint handicaps available throughout the British season, Fear And Fast offers shareholders the chance to join a horse whose campaign is already under way rather than waiting for an unraced prospect to reach the track. Fear And Fast is expected to improve a lot following a wind operation early in August 2026. Sam James told us that he needed a wind operation after riding him on the 16th of July. The vet reported that the wind operation went very well and he will be ready to race again early in September. He's doing well at home and everyone is excited about him.
