This unnamed four-year-old gelding by Masterstroke out of the Shantou mare Swatow is a homebred National Hunt prospect trained by Emma Lavelle at Bonita Racing Stables near Marlborough. The gelding is being prepared for a bumper campaign and, according to the latest Dynasty Racing update, is expected to be ready to make his racecourse debut towards the end of October 2026. Members joining now also have the unusual opportunity to become involved before he is even named, with lease shareholders invited to suggest his racing name. His sire Masterstroke was a high-class middle-distance performer who finished third in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, while the dam line brings strong National Hunt influence through Shantou, a proven source of staying jumpers. The horse is based at Bonita Racing Stables, where Emma Lavelle and her husband Barry have developed one of the country’s best-known National Hunt training environments. The yard has around 150 acres of grass gallops, a four-and-a-half-furlong all-weather gallop, a round sand gallop and extensive schooling facilities. This is a 12-month lease syndicate rather than an equity share purchase. There is no capital payment required. Each member leases an 8.33% interest and receives a proportion of prize money during the term, owner badge access and a defined share of any sale proceeds if the horse is sold while the lease remains active. A major advantage of the lease structure is the reduced long-term risk. If the horse suffers an injury that prevents him from racing again during the lease period, the lease terminates and the horse returns to Emma and Barry. Where possible, Dynasty Racing will offer members an alternative horse, but there is no obligation to continue. With only twelve shares available, an established Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer and the chance to become involved before the horse has even received his racing name, this is a particularly early-stage route into National Hunt ownership.
